About: Built in 1896, when the Irish regained their rights to their culture, religion and education. St. Louis nuns would come from Ramsgrange (3.5km) by donkey & cart. Teachers, boys, and girls had their own entrances and toilets. Boys were upstairs and girls downstairs. Later it was mixed (according to those in the village who went to school there) See if you can find the ink stains on the wood floor! Be sure to look at the great old photos of the Schoolhouse & Ballyhack on the walls of the pub.
